Any article that slams Sir Ian Blair and defends Kate Moss can't be all bad. Indeed this one is rather good. Once upon a time I wrote an article for the Times about the McPherson Report. Blair, then the deputy Commissioner of the Met, wrote a letter to said organ taking exception to my wisdom. Consequently, I've kept a beady eye on the creep, and am delighted to watch his career unravel:

"You might think Britain's number one police officer would have something better to do with his time, in these days of international terrorism, than investigating a 31-year-old working mother for what must surely be one of the most common and least serious crimes on his patch".

Says Tom Utley, to which the only responsible answer is, quite. Let's put it this way: if you heard somebody knocking at your door at four o'clock in the morning who would you rather it be? Power-crazed Blair? Or the fun-loving Miss Moss?
